Es ist das erste Mal in der Geschichte der Löwen, dass US-Amerikaner eine zweite Saison für sie spielen werden. DJ Hernandez, für viele der beste Quarterback 2009 in Österreich, wird gemeinsam mit Wide Receiver Ryan McGuire auch 2010 im Dress der schwarzen Löwen spielen.

Der nach dem überraschenden Abgang von Bob Bradley vakante Posten eines Cheftrainers wird nicht nach besetzt. In Kärnten setzt man darauf, dass die US-Amerikanischen Spieler, gemeinsam mit dem sportlichen Leiter Peter Petek und Teamkapitän Bernd Leitsoni, die Teamführung und das Coaching übernehmen.
Ganz untätig war Bradley aber nicht, arbeitet er gemeinsam mit den Lions von den USA aus am Playbook und vermittelte – wie schon die Jahre zuvor – zwei Neuzugänge: Linebacker Steve Ziogas von den Brown Bears in Providence/Rhode Island (Ivy League/NCAA Div I-AA) und Lineman Daniel Nolan von der Holy Cross Universität in Worcester/Massachusetts (Patriot League/NCAA Div I-AA) komplettieren mit Hernandez und McGuire das US-Quartett, mit Ex-Gladiator Mike Dougherty sind in Summe sogar fünf Amerikaner derzeit beim Kärntner Klub.

Junior: Had a breakout season for the Bears… Ranked 16th in the Ivy League in tackles with 62 total on the season… His 62 tackles also ranked third on the Brown team… Made interceptions vs. Princeton and Columbia… Recorded 10 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception, returning it 20 yards, against Princeton, and was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll… Made 12 total tackles, 9 solo hits, a forced fumble, and broke up 2 passes against Cornell…Had nine total tackles against both Penn, Dartmouth and Columbia…
Sophomore: Versatile letterman who made 7 tackles on the season… Registered 2 solo tackles in Brown’s game against Rhode Island… Had a season high of 3 tackles in Brown’s match-up against Dartmouth…
Freshman: Gained valuable experience on the Bears‘ Junior Varsity squad… Recorded one tackle during the Spring Game…
Daniel Nolan
2007 All-Patriot League First Team: OL Dan Nolan, Holy Cross Sr., has been selected All-Patriot League First Team for the 2007 college football season. Nolan started all 11 games for the Crusaders at right tackle this season, as the leader of an offensive line which paved the way for Holy Cross to lead the Patriot League in scoring (35.9 points per game), total offense (463.4 yards per game) and passing offense (335.2 yards per game). He also helped the Crusaders to allow just 14 sacks all season, while the team attempted 497 passing (just one sack for every 36.5 times the team dropped back to pass). Nolan started the final 22 games of his Holy Cross career on the offensive line, while playing in 33 contests as a Crusader.
