A hot Zinkensdamm saw a game between a fast Austria against a young Czech team.
The game started out slow in the beginning but Austria still controlled the game. They had problems to produce any points the first couple of drives but before the end of the first quarter they were up 21:0. The game was over by that point after RB Andrej Kliman had made the first two touchdowns and WR Thomas Haider caught a 20 yd pass from the outstanding Austrian QB Bernd Dittrich whom was 7 of 11 for 69 yds, two TD passes and no interception for the day.

Early in the game the Austrian coaching staff started to rotate in second string players to keep their starters fresh for the important game against Germany on Thursday. Therefor they had some problems in the second quarter and only scored one TD by WR Christoph Gross just before the first half ended 28:0.

Though the Czechs really played better than their first game and the third they kept the Austrians out of the end zone through tough defensive play by Tomas Valik and Martin Mostecky. But in the fourth quarter the Austrian second string players played better and scored two more TD by Florian Hiess and Maximilian Sommer. Austria gain three times the yards as the Czech they also had three times the penalty yards, something they really needs to improve if they shall have any chance beating Germany in the group final.

For the Czechs once again 16 year old Jaroslav Zeman gained most of the yards and was voted MVP after gaining 76 yds on the ground and 42 yds returning the ball.

Austrian HC Bernhard Binstorfer was impressed byt the Czechs as well as their own HC Fred Armstrong said on the press conference after the game. ‚Our goal is to develop and get experience for the next championship 2008 where several of our players this championship are going to play in."

MVP in the Austrian team was DL Philip Stojaspal with 5 tackles, one forced fumble and two sacks.
