The Bowl season culminates with the National Championship Playoff game on January 11th. The playoff participants are #1 Clemson (ACC 13-0), #2 Alabama (SEC 12-1), #3 Michigan State (Big Ten 12-1) and #4 Oklahoma (Big-12 11-1).
This year’s playoff games are to be played on new year’s eve, and are sure to be excellent. The Orange Bowl in Miami Florida matches #1 Clemson vs. #4 Oklahoma. The Cotton Bowl in Arlington Texas matches #2 Alabama vs. #3 Michigan State. Each participating team won its respective conference. The only major conference not represented in this year’s playoff is the cannibalistic Pac-12. The Pac-12 winner Stanford (11-2) will play Iowa (Big Ten 12-1) in the Rose Bowl on new year’s day.
ALAMO BOWL
The bowl season will give us many great match-ups. One of the best will be played January 2nd in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio Texas. It features the #15 Oregon Ducks (9-3) vs. #11 Texas Christian University (10-2). For Oregon fans this year has been a bit unsteady. At one point mid-way through the season, with the Ducks having a 3-3 record and their starting QB injured, fans were worried that the Ducks might not reach bowl eligibility. However the return of QB Vernon Adams to the starting line-up has led to six victories in a row, including an exciting 38-36 victory over Stanford. Oregon is now one of the hottest teams in college football. Like Oregon, TCU features a high powered exciting offense. The Alamo Bowl is predicted to be a wild west shoot-out.
Here’s the last Motivational video of the Duck’s season.
