NFL Week 10: A Look Back To Jet-Setter LT

New York Jets running back LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON totaled 60 yards from scrimmage (38 rushing, 22 receiving) in the Jets’ 37-16 loss to New England, surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer BARRY SANDERS for fifth place all-time.

In his 11-year career, Tomlinson has 18,206 scrimmage yards.

BREES, BRADY MOVIN’ UP: New Orleans quarterback DREW BREES passed for 322 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ 26-23 overtime win at Atlanta. Brees leads the NFL with 3,326 passing yards, the most yards through the first 10 games of a season in NFL history.

Brees recorded his 51st career 300-yard passing game, tying Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN FOUTS (51) for the fifth-most all-time.

New England quarterback TOM BRADY also passed for 329 yards in the Patriots’ 37-16 win against the Jets, his 40th career 300-yard game. Brady surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer JOE MONTANA (39 games) for eighth on the all-time list.

PATRIOT WAY: Including six catches last night against the Jets, New England wide receiver WES WELKER leads all NFL players with 504 receptions since joining New England in 2007. He is the fastest player to record 500 receptions with one team (70 games), surpassing the mark previously held by ANQUAN BOLDIN (80 games, Arizona). 

Welker also became the fourth player in NFL history with at least 500 catches in a five-year span. MARVIN HARRISON (five times), CRIS CARTER (twice) and Pro Football Hall of Famer JERRY RICE (once) are the only other players to accomplish the feat.

The players to reach 500 receptions with one team in the fewest games:

MARVELOUS MILLER: Denver’s rookie linebacker VON MILLER, who was selected No. 2 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, had 1.5 sacks in the Broncos’ 17-10 win against Kansas City and leads NFL rookies with eight sacks this season.

Miller is on pace to challenge JEVON KEARSE’s single-season rookie sack record (14.5 in 1999).

RODGER THAT: Green Bay’s AARON RODGERS has quarterbacked the defending Super Bowl champion Packers to an 8-0 record and leads the league in several passing categories, including yards per attempt (9.88).

Rodgers is on pace to have the third highest single-season yards-per-pass average of any player in NFL history (minimum 250 attempts). His 9.88 average would rank behind Pro Football Hall of Famers OTTO GRAHAM (10.55 in 1953) andNORM VAN BROCKLIN (10.14 in 1954).
