The long anticipated matchup of the two strongest teams on the west coast is finally here. The winner of the game keeps alive its chances to play on January 9th in the National Championship game. Some say this game is Stanford’s biggest game ever. Stanford is undefeated, while Oregon has only one loss, and that was on opening day to the now #1 ranked LSU Tigers. The two teams have passed all their tests. Now it’s go time.

The game is expected to be a high scoring affair as Stanford is ranked third nationally in points scored per game, while Oregon is fifth with 46 points. Each team is led by a Heisman Trophy candidate. Stanford by its quarterback Andrew Luck who is slated to be the first pick in next year’s NFL draft. Oregon by star running back LaMichael James who leads the nation with an average of 8.0 yards per rush. The game is so attractive ESPN’s College Game Day will be broadcasting from Palo Alto, California for the first time.

Last year in Eugene the game played between these two opponents was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Stanford jumped out to a 17 point 1st quarter lead, but lost by 21 points (21!!!). Here are the highlights:
