Team Stronach lässt grüssen: Der Weltverband IFAF gab in einer Aussendung bekannt, dass der sich seit längerer Zeit außer Dienst befindliche Präsident Tommy Wiking mit 30. April zurück getreten ist.
Der Schwede, der auch hauptverantwortlich für das Scheitern der WM 2015 in seinem Heimatland ist und im Vorjahr einige Wochen in U-Haft verbachte, hängt aber offenbar noch sehr an seiner Aufgabe und weiss offiziell von nichts.
Über Twitter richtete er kurz nach der Veröffentlichung der IFAF aus, dass manche Herrschaften demokratische Entscheidungen nicht respektieren können und er nicht zurückgetreten ist.

Mittlerweile ist das Statement auf der IFAF Seite wieder verschwunden und durch eines von Wiking ersetzt worden, in dem er von einem Putschversuch einer Minderheit im Verband spricht.

Earlier this year the Executive Board of IFAF accepted the resignation of IFAF President Tommy Wiking, effective from April 30th 2015.
This timeframe was agreed to allow for a transitioning process which included attendance at the SportAccord Meeting in Sochi.
Over the course of this time, Mr Wiking has been on an extended Leave of Absence.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank him for his dedication to IFAF and to wish him luck for the future.
Senior Vice President Mac Kaneuji will continue to lead the Federation through until the IFAF Congress in July when elections will take place for the role. With the scheduled elections set for 2016, the elected person will stand for one year in office.
