Last weekend Michigan State defeated the Oregon Ducks 31:28 in a thrilling game that went to the wire. The game had everything a fan could desire. A goal line stand, a punt return for a TD and numerous other excellent plays. After the game all Duck fans were shaking their heads. With 1:20 left on the clock Oregon’s QB Vernon Adams overthrew receiver Byron Marshall who was wide-open in the endzone. So close but yet so far.
Here is a short highlight video of the game.
Here is the entire game (every play) without huddles or commercials.
This weekend the #12 Ducks host Georgia State at Autzen Stadium. Georgia State is not a strong team therefore the Duck’s second and third string will play considerable minutes. One important note, after the Michigan State game, it was announced that QB Vernon Adams had played the game with a broken finger. He had broken it during the previous game against Eastern Washington. The Duck’s second string QB Jeff Locke may start against Georgia State.
Now I’d like to inform you all about an Autzen Stadium tradition. Every game, at the end of the third quarter, the public address system plays the song “Shout”. The Oregon fans all dance and sing along. The song “Shout” was first performed for the movie “Animal House” (1978) which was filmed on the University of Oregon campus. This past week Nike created a video to celebrate this Oregon heritage. The video stars numerous University of Oregon greats, most prominently Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mari-O-ta.
Here are links to the original movie scenes.
