Oregon’s disappointing over-time loss to Stanford has diminished Oregon’s national championship hopes. But there is no looking back. Now its time for the #5 Ducks to drive to Corvallis Oregon, 45 minutes north of Eugene, to face their archrival Oregon State in the 116th Civil War.
The #15 Oregon State Beavers, with a record of 8-2, are an excellent team. The Beavers have not played a bad game all season. Had a few things gone differently the Beavs would be 10-0. Their two losses were both on the road to teams currewntly ranked in the top 25.  Early in the season they lost to #25 Washington won 20-17. And two weekends ago they barely lost to #8 Stanford 27-23. Here is a preview of Saturday’s game.
As we know, the Ducks have a reputation for FLASH. The Beavers, on the other hand, are just MEAN. Here’s an excellent Pre-Civil War video to give you a feel.

There is little love lost between the Beavers and the Ducks. Here is an excellent example from 2009 of just how these two teams feel about each other.
“I smell something burning, its Roast Duck”

P.S. Your’s truly grew up a Beaver fan in Corvallis Oregon. I had no choice, my father was "Herr Professor" at Oregon State. However when it was time to go to university, I got out-of-town and went to Eugene to become a Duck. I must admit that I’m very conflicted. Go Beav-Ducks!
